Characters have feelings too.

Creative Writing Club

When we feel, we are more than merely happy or sad. Our kids were fantastic at coming up with new feelings for their characters - the good and the bad.

We ended the day with a piece on the pets we want. T-Rex, fire breathing dragon, and AK-47 were just a few. No pressure, mum and dads!

A fantastic effort from all our kids in debate!

Debate & Presentation Club

Point structures, formality, signposting, and high modality language. There’s a lot to take in for our kids in debate today but everyone has taken on these concepts well. Some are rigorously trying to apply these in their speeches.

Special shout out to the kids who braved their first debate!

States of matter

Science Club - Kindergarten & Year 1

Solids are fixed shape and its particles are packed closely together. Liquid takes the form of it’s container and does not change volume. Finally, gases moves around.

These may be simple concepts for adults but how will our little ones grasp these easily? Through lots of investigation and experiments, of course! Worksheet are also a must to record our learning and for revision.

It may be a lot of work, but it’s hidden under lots of fun!

Kindy Beginners

Another lovely afternoon!

Today we read about The Ant and the Grasshopper. We discussed the importance of working hard and being prepared, wrote down our thoughts, and some of our brave kids got up to share their views.

There is always time to squeeze in a little bit of Maths and English too!

Animal cells vs plant cells

Science Club - Year 2 to 5

Kids who didn’t have their own umbrellas today were given a yellow raincoat at pick up. Somehow, that was considered an exciting start to the afternoon!

Today, I believe our kids will be able to go home and teach their parents a thing or two about the functions of different cells!

Trust our little ones to turn their writing into works of art!

Creative Writing Club

We just love how each piece of writing magically turned out with so many colours. It just goes to show that the world is colourful in the heart of each child. Interesting how the colours then disappears when we start focus on the objective of the day “adjectives”.

Some of our cuties happily shared their work with their mates. Keep up the good work!

A little bit of competition sparks intense concentration.

Debate & Presentation Club

When it’s boys vs girls, the stakes are high! But it’s always a bit of fun to brainstorm over the necessity of homework.

Today, we also tried to get our heads around the basic structure of a debate and the best format in delivering a point.

Use your senses and imagination!

Creative Writing Club

Writing is not just about using big words, it is also using your imagination and your senses. Today we explored an imaginative animal and had a little nature walk around our garden.

We may only be in year 1, but we know our stuff.

What do plants need to survive, how do plants adapt to their natural surroundings, what are the different parts of a plant, and how do plants create food?

All these questions are answered in one afternoon in our science club. And we even managed to squeeze in some garden exploration, as well as an experiment to extract chloroplast from leaves!

Our science club trials a success!

Science Club Trials

I wanted our kids to learn, to understand their environment, to extend their vocabulary, to be curious and to have fun. It was asking for a lot, but with consistent hard work and dedication from our team, I’m proud to say that we have achieved just that for our after school program.

With a mixture of discussions, worksheets, physical activities as well as experiments, our student were not only fully engaged, many couldn’t stop talking about what they’ve learnt after they went home. Thank you all for coming, and thank you all for already enrolling into our club for next term. We look forward to seeing your happy faces soon.
